GORINCHEM – Easyfairs, organizer of Aqua Nederland, announces that the trade fair will no longer take place in 2021 and will be moved to March 2022. The most recent developments such as new COVID-19 variants, the lockdown and a still valid ban on events, make it is impossible to continue events in the short term and highly uncertain in the medium term. After consulting the exhibitors, partners and trade associations, rescheduling is the unanimous choice. A move to the autumn of 2021 was not an option due to the saturated trade events agenda. The next edition of Aqua Nederland will therefore take place on March 15, 16 and 17, 2022.
Vital infrastructure stays at home
Esther Rodenburg, event manager, explains on behalf of Easyfairs: “The Netherlands is now entering its sixth week of lockdown and there is now also a curfew. Of course, there is light at the end of the tunnel, but events still seem far away. Although there will be a green light for events in the short term, the chance of a reasonable number of qualitative visitors this spring will be small. The vital infrastructure that water boards and drinking water companies manage have logically to do with protocols that advise against or even prohibit attending events. We also see those guidelines in most industries. For these reasons, it is not the right timing to bring the Dutch water sector together for their annual networking moment. Even though we showed in fall of 2020 that we can organize safe events in Evenementenhal Gorinchem during covid-19 times, relocation is the only option for now. Of course we also only want to organize top events for this community. That is why we promise to make it the best edition yet in 2022. “
No fall 2021 edition
Rodenburg: “rescheduling to fall 2021 was unfortunately not an option. We think this is a pitty, because we think it is important to show resilience as a market and to recover as soon as possible. A trade fair is an ideal moment to make connections and take on the challenges. Many exhibitors and partners indicate that their agenda simply does not allow it. Many events were already planned, and many events have also been moved to the second part of 2021. We make this decision with pain in our hearts and hope for the understanding of all involved, but we want to ensure that our visitors, exhibitors, partners and speakers attend an event that will be at its best.”
About Aqua Nederland 2022
Aqua Nederland is the trade fair and national networking event for water professionals in wastewater, drinking water, industrial water, urban water and sewer management. During the water fair of the Netherlands, more than 9,500 visitors at 350+ exhibitors see, feel and experience the latest innovations, services and products in the field of water treatment, water management and water technology.
After pre-registration, the event can be visited free of charge on 15, 16 and 17 March 2022 in Evenementenhal Gorinchem. During the visit to the fair, visitors benefit from a free snack and a drink.
