With the CirTec GT-Optima belt thickener, liquid flows with very low concentrations of undissolved components can be thickened, such as sludge. Conditioned sludge is thickened with polyelectrolyt on an endless belt. An adjustable ramp on the dumping side of the machine ensures a high degree of thickening. The cloth is cleaned by a spraying installation. Of the 500 Giotto Water references worldwide, 22 belt thickeners are operational in the Netherlands and Belgium.
