The Van der Ven – RWB partnership completed the renovation and expansion of the Nieuwe Wetering wastewater treatment plant on behalf of the Rijnland Water Board.
The plant’s capacity was increased by over 40% due to a rise in waste flows. The expansion involved constructing a new anaerobic tank, site pipes, reception work, and a second settling tank. As a result, the plant’s capacity has been raised to 1150 m3 per hour.
Furthermore, the existing installation was mechanically and electrically refurbished in its entirety. With these enhancements, the treatment plant can operate efficiently for the next 15 years without requiring major maintenance!
